What are nozzles and when should they be cleaned?

And if a clean, without deposits, nozzle atomizes the fuel well, then the “clogged” makes it much worse – almost a jet. From this, the engine’s traction deteriorates and many other problems appear. Timely cleaning of the injectors will help prevent an unfavorable outcome.

It is necessary if the following “symptoms” are present:

• Difficulty starting the engine.
• Improved exhaust emissions.
• Increased fuel consumption.
• Decrease engine power.

In parallel with this, an increase in fuel consumption by 1-2 liters is observed. At the initial stage, there are no interruptions in the operation of the engine.
• Middle stage. By the time of transition to this stage, the amount of deposits is so great that they foul the nozzles, narrowing them and changing their shape. As a result, not only the amount of fuel entering the internal combustion engine is reduced, but the atomization process is also changed. This leads to a deterioration in the performance of the power unit by 10-20% with an increase in fuel consumption by an average of 2 liters. At this point, the engine starts to thrive. Exhaust gases become harsh, acceleration dynamics are reduced.
• The final stage. The fuel mixture ceases to be homogeneous, instead, trickles of fuel enter the power unit. There is a performance degradation of up to 50% or more. A strong engine knock is recorded, provoked by a malfunction of several cylinders, into which no fuel is supplied due to clogging. The operation of the engine is accompanied by pops. Symptoms characteristic of the middle stage appear in a more pronounced form.

How to prevent serious damage?

Fuel system failure can be easily prevented in advance. First of all, it is worth regularly undergoing scheduled maintenance and cleaning the nozzles every 30 thousand km (every 25 thousand km is recommended for gasoline installations).
